Cytokinetics is seeking an Associate Director, Commercial IT Business Partner, who will support the Commercial and Medical Affairs teams in Europe. As part of the IT team, this individual will be responsible for the implementation and management of key systems in concert with business partners, IT, and strategic vendors to support commercialization in Europe including a Commercial Data Warehouse, Master Data Management, Veeva CRM, PromoMats, MedComms, and Tableau in several different countries.
The Associate Director, Commercial IT Business Partner will work closely with colleagues in our European Commercial and Medical Affairs organizations to understand strategy, tactics, and system requirements and will collaborate with IT colleagues and managed services vendor(s) to ensure the security and availability of commercial data and applications. Working closely with stakeholders and vendors, this individual will provide business analysis and project management services for implementation and enhancement projects. This position will be located in Zug, Switzerland, with a requirement to work onsite at least three days per week. It will report to the Director of IT for Commercial and Medical Affairs, based in South San Francisco.
The Associate Director will contribute to the overall advancement of Cytokinetics IT organization by collaborating with vendors and other Cytokinetics functions such as Analytics, Operations, Sales, Medical Affairs, and country General Managers to support the systems used to elevate Cytokinetics’ Commercial capabilities and processes in Europe.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with Director, IT Commercial and Medical Affairs, lead all aspects of a wide variety of projects and activities of varying size and scope, delivered in partnership with European Commercial and Medical Affairs teams
- Partner closely with business stakeholders, field leadership, and implementation vendors
- Lead implementation and launch of Veeva Vault CRM for Commercial and Medical Affairs
- Manage system enhancements required by business partners to support operations in multiple countries in MedComms and PromoMats Vaults
- Define cycles for application improvements and software releases and manage the master schedule for implementation and testing across the application portfolio
- Responsible for application, HelpDesk, and end-user documentation for each application
- Provide business analysis and project management services as needed to support system implementation and enhancement projects
- In partnership with business colleagues and commercial compliance function, ensure that all solutions and processes adhere to all applicable laws (e.g. GDPR) and Cytokinetics’ policies
- Know the latest commercial application capabilities and trends, providing suggestions for new or enhanced application functionality
- Manage and provide direction to the vendor(s) managing the European Commercial Data Warehouse, Veeva Network, Veeva CRM, Tableau and Veeva Vaults
- Establish and manage BI technical processes to ensure that reports and dashboards are produced on schedule
- Lead data onboarding and data warehouse enhancement projects, including integration of CRM data
- Create and manage the roadmap for enhancements to our data architecture and analytics capabilities in working with the analytics teams and vendors
- Responsible for contracting & budgeting activities related to the Commercial Data environment and Commercial applications including CRM, Network, and Veeva Vaults
- Together with vendor partners, enable data stewardship that meets business needs
- Know the latest data and analytics techniques and capabilities, leading the implementation of new capabilities and standard methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field is
- 10+ years of biotech or pharma experience in Commercial Operations, IT, analytics, and/or data management
- Experience with standard pharmaceutical data sources (such as Rx, HCP/HCO demographics, CRM, etc.) required
- Experience with Master Data Management concepts and platforms
- Experience with Tableau and/or other BI tools
- Experience with Veeva CRM, Network, Open Data, and Commercial Vault instances in Europe preferred
- Knowledge of data management capabilities (data governance, data quality, metadata management, master data management, data lifecycle management, and data lineage)
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to lead in an environment with multiple partners and competing priorities
- Experience being “hands-on” and certified in data warehouse, BI, and Veeva technology/applications preferred
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and clearly explain complex technology concepts to commercial partners and end-users in a way that supports their business goals.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a team-based environment, including external vendors and US-based colleagues while fostering a culture that is reflective of Cytokinetics’ values
- Compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern the conduct of Cytokinetics activities
- Experience in product launch, establishing new data environments, and implementing applications in the life sciences industry. Experience with commercialization activities in the EU for a US-based company is preferred.
- Knowledge of project management principles required and PMP certification a plus
- Proficient use of MS Office and other project management and business analysis tools
