Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. Cytokinetics continues to mature its IT-supported data analytics, architecture, and operational capabilities including its policies, procedures, controls, guidelines, and technologies.  This role is key to overseeing and in cases performing the design, implementation, and day-to-day oversight procedures, practices, technologies, and vendors.  This individual should have a firm understanding of key technologies and features.  However, beyond technology this individual should have strong vendor management skills given the value of what is and will be outsourced.

This role is located in Cytokinetics’ South San Francisco headquarters reporting to the Executive Director, IT

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the enterprise IT implementation and operation of foundational technologies, processes, and practices supporting data aggregation, warehousing, analytics, and BI
  • Work with IT and business colleagues to understand current and future departmental needs to support the architecture of optimized data environments
  • Work with Chief Compliance and Data Privacy Officer as well as Cyber Security team members to ensure a secure and compliant operating environment, including data storage, transmission, access, reporting, etc.
  • Identify, select, and manage vendors that design, build, operate, and maintain the technology as well as data feeds where IT has accountability
  • Participate in cross-functional data governance sub-teams
  • Provide financial management of overall services and technologies from budgeting to accruals and ultimately forecast accuracy (i.e., BvA management)
  • Stay current with data and analytics techniques and capabilities, leading the implementation of new capabilities and standard methodologies
  • Plan and grow a team to support enterprise data management/operations and analytics which may include both employees and managed services vendors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or relevant experience with 12+ years of experience in data aggregation, reporting, and analyses in complex, multi-departmental environments
  • Must have firm understanding of significant vendor and cloud technologies and offerings relevant to these domains
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication including presentation of complex information to the broad company in an easy and consumable format.
  • Must have strong collaboration and influence skills
  • Must be highly organized and inquisitive
  • Must have excellent project management skills, including ability to lead in an environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Must have ability to explain complex areas of data integration, access, and to laypeople in the organization
  • Be a highly collaborative team member with other IT colleagues as well as business colleagues to drive down data security and privacy risks
  • Must have experience supporting business in multiple regions, including Europe
  • Experience in a fast-growing pharmaceutical organization strongly preferred

Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position may be filled.

Salary Pay Range
$216,000$264,000 USD
