Current is a successful fintech startup based in SoHo, NYC. We launched our teenage branded debit card and application over a year ago and we are growing everyday.  To ensure we continue to protect our customers as we grow, we are expanding our oversight team which includes Fraud, New Account and Transaction Monitoring. As the manager of this team you would be responsible for:

  • Forming, training and managing a new Fraud Prevention department reporting directly to the CEO and Compliance Officer
  • Creating automated processes and maintaining required related procedures
  • Making decisions on Fraud Prevention tools and integrating them into CIP tools
  • Supporting the Compliance Officer for Fraud, both new account and transaction, and Suspicious Activity Reporting
  • Escalate issues to Senior Management in an effective and timely manner
  • Perform audit and quality checks on department related customer/transaction reviews
  • Creating reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual basis to support Board and Bank related reporting
  • Tracking and monitoring transactions that come through Current’s customers’ accounts.
  • Identifying and tracking suspicious or high-risk transactions, determining if there is improper activity involved, and if there is any risk to the bank or its customers.
  • Ongoing operational tasks involved directly impacting or impacted by  customer interfaces
  • Perform managerial tasks (performance reviews, action plans, etc)


We are looking for candidates with the following experience:

  • 5+ years working directly on fraud prevention at a consumer focused well established Fintech related organization
  • Experience managing and growing a team of fraud and new account review analysts
  • Startup experience is a must
  • Experience working with integrated KYC systems that include device biometrics and alternative data sources
  • Must have a data focussed approach to the business
  • Must have good communication and analytical skills
  • Must have the ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Ability to delegate and  track deliverables
  • Experience with Sift Science
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under tight timelines and deliver results consistently
