About the Role:

As a Planning Manager, you will be focused on driving growth within the revenue side of our operations.  You will be responsible for forecasting analysis, assortment planning and managing inventory levels with regard to timely and accurately supplying products to our locations across the region. With a strong emphasis on forecasting, you will collaborate cross-functionally with finance, marketing, production and sales, delving into detailed financial analyses, revenue & margin forecasting, and supply chain management to ensure optimal product mix at our own retail stores and wholesale accounts. Effective communication skills are needed for ensuring our Product, Inventory, and Operations (PIO) align seamlessly from a revenue perspective.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop accurate demand forecasts with analysis of historical data, market trends, stakeholder input and insights from cross-functional discussions.
  • Build rolling, forward-looking demand forecasts with an end-to-end mindset, and help develop all related processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and improve metrics to bridge gaps between forecast and actuals.
  • Synchronize Supply & Demand – Ensure alignment of demand plan to production plan. Identify and ensure communication of supply risks/opportunities/constraints, potential solutions and impact on “unconstrained demand plan”.
  • Review and challenge monthly/weekly production, inventory deployment and capacity plans to ensure proper flow of finished goods across the product supply chain.
  • Contribute to achieving On-Time product innovation launches and improvement in COGS (Costs of Goods Sold).
  • Support New Product Planning & Lifecycle Planning – work cross functionally to finalize pipeline volume and first 6 months of demand for new products. Track/measure actual sales vs. key assumptions.  Collaborate with cross functional team to manage & communicate SKU performance and life cycle changes.
  • Communicate financial results, forecasts and action plans to management and cross-functional team on a weekly basis.
  • Active participation in Sales & Operation Planning meetings & perform necessary weekly, period & quarterly forecast adjustments based on business guidance.
  • In conjunction with buyers develop and evaluate promotional activities; establish meaningful projections and learnings for future promotions, as well as post-mortem analysis of specific promotional strategies/events, with a focus on measuring incremental sales and margin impacts of same.
  • Support change management initiatives involving demand planning.
  • Subject matter expert in tools, reporting and business processes through in-depth understanding of needs.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel through out the region, weekly travel to local stores.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of supply chain/demand planning or financial planning/modeling experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; strong aptitude with numbers and understanding of how to build complex forecasts and a rolling demand plan.
  • Previous experience mentoring, developing, and training buyers preferred.
  • Expert-Level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency in all other Microsoft applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Communication and presentation skills: concisely present complex information/recommendations to various audiences.
  • Build collaborative partnerships cross-functionally; identifies/influences critical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in coding/consolidation of large data sets into useful reporting is a plus.
  • Some amount of cannabis industry experience and/or experience working in CPG, FMCG, Beverage Alcohol, Major Retailer is preferred, but not required.
