About the role
We're looking for a business-minded commercial lawyer to join our expanding Legal team as Business & Legal Affairs, Senior Manager! In this new role, you'll handle a wide variety of commercial contracts, vendor agreements, service deals, and business development partnerships. You'll collaborate with our legal team and business leaders, taking on dealmaking responsibilities and owning important outcomes. As a member of our Business & Legal Affairs Team, you will work with our legal and business teams as they imagine and create innovative ways to share the joy of anime globally.
- You'll structure, draft, and negotiate a high volume of contracts, including master service agreements, statements of work, media distribution and platform deals, vendor agreements, and other commercial agreements.
- You'll provide practical advice and thoughtful solutions to internal partners on a wide range of deals and legal matters.
- You'll collaborate with internal teams—business development, distribution, content, marketing, finance, people, and product—to guide important initiatives forward.
- You'll manage deals across the U.S. and globally, ensuring all legal documents remain consistent and up to date with internal policies and address new legal issues.

About You
We get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- You have 4+ years of experience, with proficiency in entertainment, tech, and general corporate matters. You have worked in-house or at a top-tier law firm providing in-house support for streaming, entertainment, or tech companies.
- You have a JD and and are a member in good standing in at least one state bar (either CA or NY bar required or the eligibility to register as In-House Counsel in California).
- You excel at drafting and organizing, with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, error-free work.
- You have knowledge of platform, distribution, marketing, ad tech, vendor, and service agreements.
- You have experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and offering creative, workable solutions to overcome impasses.
- You bring experience in the global media and entertainment industry, with an understanding of its fast-changing landscape.
- You have practical experience with streaming, digital VOD, TV, film, consumer products, and tech industries.
- You communicate and present effectively, building trust and strong relationships with other teams, external partners, and outside legal counsel.
- You are confident, driven and eager to take whatever opportunities come your way!
- You excel in environments where you can work in new and developing areas of the law and the evolving media landscape, while balancing complexity and risk.
