About the Team

We are the user research, analytic tool creation and data product team. We build self-service analytic tools and data warehousing. We do user research for UX, focus groups, surveys to get a better understanding of what our users want. We have a great need for surveys that come from all departments such as original content, events, marketing, brand etc. We are a team that can combine user research and other data to create a more complete picture of customers. We are a fast paced, analytical, thorough and fun. Learning about our customers wants and needs is extremely important for building great products

Location: San Francisco

Our headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, where our group of cross-functional experts assemble to create experiences for Crunchyroll and VRV’s passionate communities.


This is a temporary Senior Research Analyst opportunity with an estimated duration of 6 months. 


About You:

  • Experience developing online surveys, setting up usability studies, and conducting data analysis with a focus on improving digital products
  • Knowledgeable about research participant recruitment practices and strong attention to detail
  • Curious by nature and hold deep fascination for human behavior
  • Academic background or applicable experience in Psychology, Social Science, Human Centered Design or any comparable degree
  • Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with web and mobile technologies
  • Ability to perform numerical analysis on research results and visualizing complex data
  • Expertise in copy editing
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Drive tools and various survey creation tools.  Bonus for experience with Qualtrics
  • Bonus for international research and foreign language skills
  • Proficiency in R, SPSS or other statistical software
  • Experience in market and competitive research
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment using Jira and Confluence
  • Interest in anime, pop culture, animation, video games, tech and geekdom
  • Bonus for project management skills
  • Bonus for moderator skills

A day in the life of our Senior Research Analyst:

  • Supporting Ellation’s usability research in planning and writing online surveys
  • Quantitative analysis of surveys and other user data
  • Implementing outreach programs to contact user research candidates
  • Recruiting study participants through carefully crafted online screeners 
  • Managing and updating multiple databases of participants  
  • Documenting and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative research findings in a compelling manner
