About the role:

The Prediction team’s role is to predict the likely future of what’s happening around our vehicles and dealing with the uncertainty and how to represent that. Prediction works to understand and represent the likely intent  and trajectory of nearby objects so that our consumers, planning, and controls, can make human-like decisions about how we should react. We use a variety of techniques ranging from geometric programming, probabilistic robotics to deep learning to understand the world around us.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex, highly scalable, and latency-optimized software in C/C++
  • Design and develop novel prediction algorithms that accurately forecast the future trajectory of other actors in the world
  • Invent, extend, design and develop next-generation features for self-driving car applications
  • Improve and deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing and code reviews

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer writing production quality code in C/C++
  • 3+ years of robotics experience, ideally working on prediction or maneuver planning
  • Comfort with fundamentals of probability and statistics
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to write clean, fast, reliable, testable, and highly scalable code
  • Working experience in an environment that develops a complex multithreaded product
  • Be willing to dive into anything, but know when to ask our stellar tools team for scripts or tools
