We’re building the world’s most advanced self-driving vehicles to safely connect people to the places, things, and experiences they care about. We believe self-driving vehicles will help save lives, reshape cities, give back time in transit, and restore freedom of movement for many.
In our cars, you’re free to be yourself. It’s the same here at Cruise. We’re creating a culture that values the experiences and contributions of all of the unique individuals who collectively make up Cruise, so that every employee can do their best work.
Cruise is committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, both in our workplace and in our products. If you are looking to play a part in making a positive impact in the world by advancing the revolutionary work of self-driving cars, come join us. Even if you might not meet every requirement, we strongly encourage you to apply. You might just be the right candidate for us.
This team is responsible for the Autonomous Vehicle Systems Engineering and acts as a technical liaison between Product, Program, Legal, Engineering, and Test. This group includes Systems Engineers that work across Cruise on end-to-end system design. They provide the specific analysis, tools, and translation of requirements into a form that is easily consumed by the engineers who design and build these systems.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Use Python and SQL to design and implement offline software and tools for Autonomous Vehicle validation to enable launch and release decisions
Build data tools and visualizations to accelerate launch and release decision making for autonomous vehicle performance, safety, risk and simulation testing confidence
Use experience in Software Engineering or Data Science to scale validation tooling and framework improvements to help meet Systems Engineering goals in new and existing markets
Set coding and data quality standards of systems engineering risk and simulation testing confidence tools
Continuously evolve and invent new methods that accelerate and improve the quality of risk and simulation testing confidence signals for customers ranging from executives to ICs
Work as a critical liaison to multiple behavior capability and autonomy teams and validation leads, accelerating decision making for each pod with tools and methods you’ve generated
Perform analysis of Autonomous Vehicle data to characterize vehicle systems performance, validate systems engineering requirements, and influence development of systems engineering requirements
Lead and communicate data analyses, trade studies, and safety analysis that provide teams with all the information needed to develop and continuously improve the systems function and performance
Develop methods to analyze and compare the impact of software changes on top level systems engineering requirements
Define requirements and establish tools to continuously monitor quality of systems engineering validation products
Providing leadership and guidance to less senior members of the team, upholding quality and efficiency standards for the team
