Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • You will work with multi-functional teams to define mapping vehicle technical requirements and overall system architectures.
  • In this position you will design, prototype, and test mapping vehicles. This includes the ability to demonstrate off the shelf custom components and subsystems.
  • Make design-vs-buy decisions and work with vendors to meet vital specifications, timelines, and cost targets.
  • Validate mapping vehicle designs using a combination of test and analysis to demonstrate performance and conformance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop field use and support documentation for mapping operations teams.
  • Transition prototype mapping vehicle designs to full scale production, providing technical support for deployed units as required.
  • Grow and develop a high performance technical team to drive mapping vehicle development.

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Software or similar engineering)
  • 6+ years of hardware/software/mechatronics development experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to build a technical solution from the ground up
  • Experience building, programming, and troubleshooting electromechanical systems
  • Previous bring up and diagnostics experience with typical automotive and sensor communication interfaces such as e.g. GigE, CAN, FPD link, GMSL/GMSL2, etc.
  • Python/C++/C# or similar language programming skills
  • Previous technical management or project leadership experience
  • Proven hands-on prototyping skills

Bonus points!

  • Experience building a product for serial production (>100 units)
  • Familiarity with sensor calibration (lidar, camera, radar, IMU, etc.)
  • Experience working with HW/SW time synchronization.
  • Understanding of high precision GNSS systems.
  • Experience performing FMEAs to validate designs, processes, etc.
  • Knowledge of reliability tests such as shock & vibration, thermal, humidity, corrosion and ingress protection.
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks or NX preferred) and CAE tools
