The Product Engineering Quality team provides ground-up solutions to improve the quality of our organization’s products and services, either through solving an individual quality challenge or driving department wide improvements. The team works on high-impact products and services, such as web tools to accelerate the rate of AV software development, and consumer-facing mobile applications that facilitate a scalable ride hail service.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing continuous testing programs on systems capable of simulating millions of miles of driving every day to predict on-road performance
  • Improving the underlying quality infrastructure and testing processes of our consumer mobile applications
  • Advocating for quality during the entire software development life cycle, choosing the optimal testing techniques and tools to solve complex problems

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of development experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test
  • Expertise in at least one of Python, Javascript / Node.js, or Go
  • Experience developing test frameworks & systems integrations for web or mobile applications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Passionate about product quality and being a strong advocate for the end user
  • Passionate about self-driving technology and its potential impact on the world

Bonus points for being familiar with:

  • React ecosystem or other web frontend frameworks
  • Writing test automation for RESTful APIs
  • Microservices architecture (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Pipelines
  • PostgresDB or similar databases and comfortable writing SQL queries
  • The testing pyramid and making recommendations to developers around what testing methodologies are most appropriate
  • Deploying logging, monitoring, and alerting in order to maintain SLAs
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Testing mobile hardware
