We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to develop insights from data on the performance of our autonomous car, and use these insights relevant impactful requirements, quantify performance criteria, and ensure that comprehensive testing of AV software.

In this position, you’ll have the chance to work at the intersection of hardware, software, and AV technology and have a hand in nearly every component of a technically sophisticated autonomous system.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop long-term and stable requirements, verification/validation, and/or software solutions to advanced problems.
  • Perform analysis of AV data to characterize vehicle systems performance and influence systems engineering requirements development.
  • Lead and communicate data analyses, trade studies, and safety analysis that provide teams with all the information needed to develop and continuously improve the systems function and performance.
  • Design novel testing methods to ensure AV performance does not regress and meets validation criteria.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Managers to ensure design, implementation, and programs are on track, and regularly drive consensus among diverse partners on technical projects.
  • Develop methods to analyze and compare the impact of SW changes on relevant performance metrics, translating data and analysis into measurable recommendations.
  • Build and manage relationships with all relevant partners.
  • Work with engineers and data scientists to define outcome metrics and success criteria.

What you must have:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another related field
  • 5+ years of industry experience in systems engineering, robotics, systems analysis, data analysis, statistical analysis, or other related disciplines
  • You have experience working with large datasets, SQL and Python or C++
  • Ability to understand complex technical systems
  • Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity
  • Strong technical and nontechnical interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking skills - interpret what the data is telling us, and which analyses will reveal impactful conclusions

Bonus points!

  • Ability to identify and act on opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
  • Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, vehicle development, or ADAS development
