Cruise is seeking a PCB Layout Designer to help us design the boards that enable self-driving cars! You will contribute to modules ranging from telematics to sensors and see them through from prototype to mass production. You will also be integral in defining and implementing the library, design rules, and configuration management processes that enable our team to scale.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own the PCB design process, including; placement, routing, and fabrication package
  • Build and manage symbols and footprints libraries as well as schematic/PCB templates
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to define electromechanical requirements and conduct design reviews 
  • Define and maintain design rule checks and advanced feature usage of design tools 
  • Perform placement and routing analysis studies
  • Liaison with contract manufacturers for stackup, design rules, builds, and first article inspection

What you must have:

  • High proficiency with Altium Designer, impedance calculators, gerber, and DFx tools
  • Experience with complex system-on-chip (SoC) or FPGA designs for high-reliability in a hostile environment   
  • Experience with controlled impedance, length matching, differential signals on high-speed digital busses (DDR4, PCIe, MIPI-CSI, 10gbE, etc).
  • 3+ years of PCB layout experience

  • IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID or CID+)
  • Experience in PLM such as TeamCenter
  • Experience developing automotive products
  • Experience with Altium Vault / Concord Pro Library management
