About the role:

Cruise is looking for a hardware/software diagnostics engineer to help our hardware team define and build the next generation of autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will work with design and verification teams developing initialization and diagnostics software needed to perform QA on silicon products.

Day-to-day responsibilities include: 

  • Put together a verification and validation infrastructure that allows test code reuse between verification, emulation, prototyping, and silicon 
  • Develop verification friendly CPU boot code for verification and validation purposes 
  • Develop bare metal initialization software for programming  high speed interfaces
  • Write validation diagnostics software for emulation and prototyping systems

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent combination education
  • 5+ years of experience in system validation and diagnostics development
  • Strong knowledge of SOC based systems and low level software
  • Solid understanding of CPU boot process and SOC system initialization 
  • Proficient in C and related CPU tool chains
  • Excellent communication skills 

Bonus points!

  • Hands on experience with signal based debugging tool
  • Understating of building prototyping and emulation systems for silicon development
