About the team:

The Planning team handles decision-making in urban environments, including collision avoidance, intelligent routing, unprotected turns, four-way-stops, lane changes, and more. Our job is to produce robust, general solutions that capture the nuances of driving safely on the road. Engineers on this team develop algorithms and systems for handling complex maneuvers and road scenarios, and work to write code that is clean, clear, fast and reliable.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex, highly scalable, and latency-optimized software in C++
  • Design and develop vehicle path planning algorithms 
  • Invent, extend, design and develop next-generation features for self-driving car applications
  • Improve and deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing and code reviews

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer writing production quality code in C++
  • Comfort with fundamentals of probability and statistics
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to write clean, fast, reliable, testable, and highly scalable code
  • Working experience in an environment that develops a complex multithreaded product
  • Be willing to dive into anything, but know when to ask our stellar tools team for scripts or tools
