About the Role:

As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Hardware Testing, you will play a pivotal role in collecting, planning, and coordinating testing activities across all Autonomous Vehicle Hardware modules and platforms. 

You will work to identify key challenges faced within hardware, and partner with sensor Technical Program Managers to drive programs that address these challenges from a program-level perspective.

You will need to navigate the complexity of a matrixed organization and partner with key engineering leads and and other Technical Program Managers to come up with a comprehensive plan of all testing activities required for the new HW platform and drive execution of testing activities.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Leading and delivering complex, fast-evolving hardware components during early development through production
  • Building and fostering relationships within Cruise and our OEM partners, 3rd parties, and external manufacturers
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to establish clarity on requirements and alignment on team progress
  • Actively drive the program schedule and dependencies to land our deliverables on time
  • Effectively track and report on project progress, cost, and schedules
  • Proactively prevent roadblocks and drive corrective action as needed
  • Managing day to day operational aspects of multiple projects with large teams
  • Creating and organizing all relevant documentation

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • BS, MS, and/or PhD in electrical engineering or other relevant technical field
  • 7+ years of industry experience 
  • Experience interfacing with software teams and their development frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex technical systems
  • Strong technical and nontechnical communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity
  • Ability to identify and act on opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
  • Ability to confidently bring order and organization to any team

Bonus points!

  • Background in automotive, defense, aerospace or similar requirement-driven design industry 
  • Experience bringing hardware into production through high volume manufacturing
  • Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, or complex electromechanical systems and technology stacks
