The Security Products team focuses on creating services and capabilities that help our employees and their work be secure. The team’s potential impact is broad ~ across both internal employee experience and products intended for customer consumption. This team’s focus is on building software and services that enable security; think self-service identity management, service-to-service auth, and secure defaults.

We are especially interested in speaking with candidates that have diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We’re solving novel security problems at Cruise; novel perspectives make this easier!

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Lead the long term strategy and success of an engineering focused security team responsible for creating new security capabilities and services
  • Partner with teams throughout the organization to identify opportunities to build customer focused security solutions
  • Partner with security teams at Cruise to identify gaps addressable through creative tool development
  • Manage a team of high functioning security and development minded engineers
  • Some amount of hands-on participation with the work of the team (your time will likely be spent on the above, but ideally you’re not afraid to get your hands a little dirty)

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • Experience managing and mentoring diverse individuals (diverse in both experience and skill set)
  • A broad and practical understanding of security fundamentals
  • Experience developing services and tools, as well as designing the systems/architectures necessary to make them scale
  • Practical knowledge and experience working in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • An interest in building creative solutions to challenging security problems
