About the role:

Ground Truth & Mapping Operations at Cruise produces a variety of products, such as annotated datasets for machine learning and detailed maps, that help our vehicles navigate the world. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst that will work with diverse stakeholders to bring exceptional analytical rigor to our operations. This role will tackle a variety of challenges, including but not limited to:

  • Crafting and executing creative analytics to better understand the workings of our large and disparate workforce
  • Collaborating with engineers to understand quality requirements of our data products and monitoring outputs to ensure we meet those standards
  • Understanding data visibility required by the team and working with tooling engineers to build necessary analytics features
  • Utilizing Looker to analyze data for day to day work functions

The ideal candidate for this role is fluent in data manipulation & statistics, comfortable with providing technical and product recommendations, and adept at working cross-functionally to support ideas from inception to launch.

Day-to-day responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams to identify and collect requirements on characteristics, thoroughness, and correctness of data products used in machine learning, mapping, and other applications
  • Identify and help launch new processes and tools that quantitatively measure our operational efficiency and the quality of our data products
  • Lead new projects and processes that can improve efficiency and/or quality
  • Working with stakeholders in operations, engineering and data science, identify and communicate requirements for new tools that help measure efficiency and/or quality
  • Track and report KPIs on data quality to key stakeholders and leadership
  • Support ad hoc analytics requests as needed

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience supporting teams who use annotated datasets for machine learning models
  • Excellent problem-solving - able to quickly learn complex systems, break down problems, and develop rigorous and quantitative arguments to inform decision-making
  • Experience using SQL and Python for day to day work functions
  • Experience communicating on technical topics
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced work environment

  • Experience using Splunk, Hadoop
