About the role:
 
The rapidly growing Cruise legal team is looking for a pragmatic and thoughtful collaborator to join our Corporate & Transactions legal team. In this role, you will help support the legal needs from the following teams: corporate development and M&A, corporate governance, strategic partnerships and new business initiatives, global purchasing and supply chain, and corporate real estate. You will report to our Associate General Counsel - Corporate & Transactions and work directly with key members of the teams mentioned above.

Day-to-day responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in supporting corporate development transactions (mergers, acquisitions, divestiture, sale of investments, and investments into new ventures, strategic alliances, partnership agreements), corporate finance activities and other strategic transactions
  • Lead projects to support our corporate governance efforts that include Board support and Cruise | General Motors inter-company governance support
  • Support the legal needs of our corporate real estate team and the general deal and transaction needs of the company 
  • Administration and resolution of legal issues and contract interpretation matters that arise in existing commercial relationships
  • Supervise paralegals and manage outside counsel and legal budgets
  • Develop and implement legal efficiencies to improve our contract processes and operations
  • Improve and create contract templates and negotiation playbooks
  • Assist in developing training materials and provide training to the business on relevant topics

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in law firm and/or in-house legal department
  • Must have prior corporate and securities experience with M&A, SEC compliance, corporate finance and Delaware corporate governance for private and public companies
  • Ability to collaborate on multiple projects with short deadlines simultaneously
  • Highly responsive and service oriented with excellent legal and business judgment
  • Member of a State bar
