About the role:

The Senior Hardware Test Engineer will lead the development and execution of a test program for electro-optical sensors and systems to enable the future of Autonomous Vehicles.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Develop lidar test plans, processes and procedures for the characterization, qualification, and verification of lidar systems and component technology
  • Execute lidar testing
  • Perform data analysis on lidar test results
    • Write scripts, matlab/python code and develop tools as necessary to present data
  • Support and work closely with Fleet Support and Development Engineers to ensure content is being tested and validated in line with product and business goals
  • Manage lab assets
  • Design test equipment
  • Purchase lab equipment

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • BS, MS in engineering, science, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Test-minded; have a unique ability to make things work
  • Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity
  • Strong technical and nontechnical communication skills
  • Ability to identify and act on opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency

Bonus Points!

  • Experience in the automotive industry
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis on large datasets
  • Experience with Python, ROS, C/C++
  • Experience with Sensing Hardware and testing
