The Innovation Manager-Sustainability will lead and implement sustainability focused innovation projects supporting our overall Sustainability Strategy within the Product Creation and Supply Chain teams. This role is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the future of Crocs’ products and processes and support our overall efforts in becoming a more sustainable brand.

Primary Job Duties

Sustainability Solutions Development:
•Implement sophisticated and innovative sustainability projects spanning different functions and Business Units within four major areas of focus: Sustainable Ingredients, Responsible Resource Use, Sustainable Packaging, and Product End of Life
•Take ownership for the entire development process of managed projects, including identifying innovative and brand right sustainable solutions, seeking and acquiring agreement of leadership teams, diligence in scaling and implementing identified solutions, and timely completion of all tasks to bring projects from idea to fruition
Sustainability Scouting:
•Proactively research innovative approaches, technologies, processes, materials, and partnerships to drive innovation within sustainability
•Maintain a pulse on trends and regulations within the sustainability space

Higg Program Management:
•Lead Crocs’ Higg program, including Brand/Retailer Module (BRM), Facilities Environmental Module (FEM) and Facilities Social and Labor Modules (FSLM)
•Assist on scaling product impact labeling using Higg Product Module and MSI

Support Sustainability Strategy:
•Integrate with key cross-functional teams as needed to support ESG marketing, communications, and reporting
•Assist in strategy development and execution of key activities supporting Crocs’ Net Zero by 2030 target

Sustainability Culture:
•Establish strong collaborative relationships across the company to drive impact, awareness, and adoption of sustainability initiatives
•Assist in development and roll out of internal Design for Sustainability education program
•Promote a culture of sustainability within the organization

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience:
•5+ years of progressive work experience within sustainability, innovation, product development, product management, or business solutions with experience in corporate sustainability and consumer products strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Ability to work independently under minimal mentorship on several projects simultaneously while adhering to  deadlines
•Ambitious approach - ability to cope with change, make decisions, act comfortably with risk and uncertainty, and take ownership of their role
•Solution oriented-able to anticipate problems and develop timely solutions
•Sophisticated skill at problem solving and critical thinking
•Strong cross-functional communication skills and able to effectively navigate corporate relationships
•Strong IT skills

Travel Requirements:
•Domestic and international as required by business needs (<10% of the time)
