The Production Planning and Fulfillment Director position is responsible for all Distribution Center production activities from order planning through shipment and billing, supporting the optimal functioning of day-to-day operations activities.  Duties require daily oversight and execution of all planning and fulfillment functions while developing and improving processes and procedures.  Performance must be monitored through appropriate reporting and control tools.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Responsible for overseeing DC areas of planning, allocation, production, routing and shipping
  • Prioritize order fulfillment execution in a manner that ensures consistency in performance and customer service
  • Coordinate the flow of inbound orders through outbound shipments in the most efficient and profitable manner
  • Administer production in alignment with a profound and deep understanding of system tools available such as SAP/WM/GTN, etc.
  • Ensure effective collaboration and connected execution between waving/routing
  • Coordinate with Mgr-Order Mgmt in managing KPI performance driving all fulfillment processes
  • Ensure wave allocation functions monitor flow through DC and coordinate wave sizing/timing/releases with Operating Staff
  • Provide on demand and routine reporting to both warehouse and corporate teams as needed
  • Understand customer compliance requirements for allocation, VAS and routing protocols

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, logistics, finance, or industrial engineering preferred 

Minimum Experience:

  • 7-10 years high volume, big box distribution center management experience
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Warehouse planning with hands on experience a must

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Detail oriented, extremely organized and exercise proactive initiative while driving operational excellence within the center.
  • Ability to multi-task and to perform well in a fast paced environment.
  • Systems and distribution operations background in a high volume, high growth environment
  • Knowledge of all tools related to forecasting, planning, allocation and routing processes.
  • Automated warehouse experience utilizing Manhattan WMS and bar coded systems
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP package
  • Experience using routing TMS systems
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean or equivalent continuous improvement methodology
  • Excellent PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and ERP system
