Job Summary

Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Merchandising function for China. Be responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product category, and working closely with global PCT(product creation team), sales, marketing, inbound planning and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. It also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

 

Job Description

l  Product Merchandising

1.       Define the product strategy and roadmap for China

2.       Drive and communicating merchandising strategy and business opportunities

3.       Drive assortment flow needs, according to channel and within context of corporate strategy; communicate changes and impacts cross-functionally

4.       Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product

5.       Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals, product margin

6.       Develop and implement go-to-market plan, work with all dept to execute

7.       Deliver a seasonal product forecast and monitor the sell-in/sell-through performance

8.       SKU management and control product lifecycle, ensure SKU efficiency

9.       Prioritize features and corresponding justification to select new product/colors, provide line input to ensure appropriate product development for China

10.    Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities

 

l  Wholesale Merchandising

 

1.       Manage distributors product merchandising plan

2.       Monitor and drive detail analysis on distributors sell-in/Sell-through by region by customer, provide product replenishment guidelines

3.       Order review to ensure maximize the sales revenues, and comply with company merchandising strategy

 

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor degree or above
  2. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in merchandising, product creation, and/or retail; footwear experience preferred
  3. Wholesale specific planning or merchandising experience preferred
  4. Proven leadership and people management skills
  5. Proven track record of being able to successfully develop and execute a merchandising strategy
  6. Demonstrated experience and success with strategic planning and business planning
  7. Proven ability to successfully work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment
  8. Knowledge of international fashion/trends with the ability to translate into commercial concepts
  9. Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
  10. Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  11. Fluent in English
  12. Ability to successfully communicate cross-culturally
  13. Strong knowledge of China retail and wholesale footwear landscape and consumer insights
