As an Associate 3D Director, you oversee 3D production across the entire 3D project pipeline. You engage with both creative and client teams to lead real-time production sessions involving design, account, and client stakeholders, and foster a culture of collaborative learning and development of emerging talent.   This role shapes the creative objectives, driving towards exceptional visual and technical outcomes. 


You will: 

  • Contribute during creative ideation and project planning sessions
  • Manage and oversee key tasks of your lead artists
  • Survey and supervise the intake of complex CAD or 3D files
  • Scope and direct 3D ingest efforts when preparing files for Unreal Engine
  • Estimate level of effort for team members based on level of experience
  • Eliminate technical constrains to achieve creative goals
  • Report on progress, problem solve and moderate between creative and 3D artists
  • Establish quality report guidelines and practices
  • Communicate concise and constructive feedback to 3D artists
  • Perform final checks on rendered images, animations and interactive components
  • Complete fidelity evaluations in variety of content publishing platforms
  • Continuously optimize all 3D workflow tracks and implement learnings
  • Drive design reviews and Real-Time Virtual Production Sessions
  • Actively participate in planning and recruitment process
  • Assess and understand team expansion, operations, strategic planning and adept conflict resolution within the discipline
  • Drive design reviews effectively
  • Provide solutions to challenges that arise during a project lifecycle
  • Assume responsibility for the team and the work
  • Measure the pulse of the team through competency, strength and wellbeing
  • Be a strategic collaborator with the 3D Directors or Group 3D Directors, contributing to the growth, leadership and mentorship of the discipline
  • Take an active role in talent acquisition and training, directing innovative learning programs for new and existing talent
  • Improve existing training and processes for the betterment of team efficiency

 

You have:

  • Experience working/leading in a high demand 3D environment
  • Proficiency with 3D assets (Maya 3D, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine)
  • Proficiency with high-end rendering pipelines
  • Excellent knowledge of film, real-time development and virtual production process
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest 3D and Unreal Engine best practices
  • Comfortability with pipeline management, data management and asset tracking software
  • Exceptional quality evaluation skills
  • Strong understanding of delivery specs and exporting standards
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent planning and team building skills
