Chipper’s HR team is looking to hire a People Ops Generalist for our US Headquarters in San Francisco.  This is a great opportunity for a self-starting professional with an interest in HR Operations. This will be a hybrid role and you’ll be expected to come into the office at least once a week once Covid settles. You’ll play a critical role in building out the foundation for our US based employees and the company’s continued success: our people. 

What You’ll Do

    • HRIS Management: You will ensure the data integrity of our HRIS system, as well as the organization and management of employee related files:
      • Understand the sensitive nature of People Ops data and adheres to all policies related to confidentiality and security of personal information while processing all transactions
      • Maintain data integrity in People Ops systems & employee files (i.e. i-9s, 
      • Run ad-hoc and regular reports, partner across the People & Culture team on routine data audits to confirm accuracy in system data
      • Maintain a strong understanding of the relationship between the core HRIS, integrated systems, and platforms
      • Administer employee changes & internal movement in our HRIS, including coordinating with finance, payroll providers and other People team members as needed
    • Policies and procedures: You will maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. Keep up to date on changing laws and compliance updates that have implications for the organization. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiencies of value-added services performed
      • Leave of Absence: You will be the main point of contact for our employee leave of absence needs and questions, administering leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws
      • Compliance Training: Review, track, and document compliance for mandatory training
      • Assist with policy creation and roll out
      • Answer employee questions on benefits and policies
    • Onboarding & Offboarding Administration & Facilitation: Support the onboarding administration, such as managing background checks, entering & updating employee info in our payroll/benefits platform, and support preparation of exit packets for terminating employees.
    • Benefits Administration: Manage day to day benefit related needs such as education of employees, enrollment support for new hires, special enrollments, education and programming around benefits, and more. You will also play a key role in the Open Enrollment process.
  • People Department Operations
    • Work with our Director of People to assist in managing regular team meetings with agenda management, scheduling, team support as needed
    • Provide day-to-day operational support to employees and managers on People Ops related questions through our ticketing system
    • Event planning and organizational support for our SF office and employees
    • Participate in special projects, as needed
    • Model and reinforce our cultural values of being an owner, empathetic, and bold!

What You Should Have

  • You have 3-5 years of professional industry experience as an HR Generalist or equivalent role.
  • You love working with data and systems to craft efficiency, order, and process. Familiarity with Sequoia One (PEO), Jira/Atlassian (ticketing system), Notion (Project management), GSuite, Dropbox (file mgmt), Hibob (HRIS), and Docusign (E-Signature) is preferred.
  • You have applied knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good intuition, and the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • You have experience exercising independent judgement within the framework of company policies and practices.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, balance multiple tasks at once, and meticulous attention to detail
  • You are comfortable in navigating ambiguity, start-up experience a plus!
