JOB SUMMARY
Cresco Labs is seeking a Corporate Tax Analyst. The Corporate Tax Analyst will report to the Corporate Tax Manager and assist with income and indirect tax related matters. This includes the preparation of tax provision calculations and disclosures for quarterly and annual public filing requirements. In addition, this position is responsible for preparing federal and state income tax returns, preparing and improving the processes for indirect tax, preparing tax forecasts, participating in the tax integration for new businesses and acquisitions, as well as assisting with special projects as needed. Our ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is highly organized with great attention to detail.
CORE JOB DUTIES
- Prepare the quarterly and annual tax provision under both IFRS and GAAP principles
- Participate in the current and deferred income tax reporting process, including tax account balance reconciliations, tax basis balance sheet adjustments, valuation allowance analyses, and deferred tax asset/liability rollforwards
- Prepare quarterly tax accounting journal entries
- Work closely with the corporate accounting team to ensure proper tax reporting under both IFRS and GAAP principles
- Prepare schedules used in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for both internal and external reporting purposes
- Tax compliance preparation, research, and planning
- Assist with annual US federal, state and local, and foreign income tax return filings
- Prepare workpapers, schedules, calculations and other items related to tax return filings, estimated tax payments, extension payments, and tax sharing agreements
- Support the tax audit and notice processes with the IRS and relevant state and local taxing jurisdictions
- Work closely with Treasury and Financial Planning & Analysis groups on tax forecasting
- Assist with research on various tax issues to determine the appropriate tax treatment and related tax reporting
- Prepare indirect tax filings
- Research indirect tax filing requirements
- Prepare written memorandums for review by the Corporate Tax Manager
- Processes and controls
- Assist in the implementation of tax technology initiatives, including tax provision and compliance preparation software. OneSource experience preferred
- Assist with tax internal controls, for returns, provisions, and indirect taxes
- Assist with tax integration for new businesses and acquisitions
- Help drive the continuous improvement of processes and procedures as the company expands in both new and established markets
- Assist with special projects, including acquisition due diligence, post-acquisition integration, legal entity restructuring and rationalization
- Work cross functionally with company departments and external partners
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business degree with accounting concentration
- Advanced Degree preferred: MST, MAcc or LLM
- CPA desirable
- 1 – 2 years accounting experience (public accounting or relevant corporate tax experience preferred)
- Tax compliance experience, including indirect tax, preferred
- Ability to research tax issues, work within a team environment to resolve such issues, and communicate results in a clear/timely manner
- Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks
- Experience with financial accounting systems (Intacct and SAP helpful)
- Experience with MS Excel and MS Office required
- Enjoys working in a start-up, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
