CORE JOB DUTIES

  • Continuously assesses the status of Cresco’s automated manufacturing systems and procedures to ensure safety, quality, and compliance measures exceed standards
  • Actively seeks ways to improve efficiencies throughout the end-to-end manufacturing process
  • Identifies and applies meaningful and attainable KPIs to continuously measure the efficiency of Cresco’s engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Assesses and implements improvements to existing automation systems and standardizes best practices across our growing network of U.S. manufacturing facilities
  • Leads and mentors a large team of engineers and supply chain experts in understanding lean manufacturing principles and executing compliance measures to the highest standard possible
  • Manages engineering standardization initiatives within Cresco operations in all markets
  • Prioritizes and assigns projects to achieve the company’s growth goals while maintaining an eye on budget and on-time completion
  • Understands health and safety standards and local regulatory requirements to ensure all processes comply; also provides thorough training to all employees on these topics
  • Identifies training opportunities for operations and engineering employees on procedures and equipment relevant to safety standards and industry trends
  • Ensures that employee safety and health, product safety, product quality, and sustainability are appropriately engineered into every project
  • Develops systems and layouts that follow lean manufacturing philosophies of one-piece flow and Kanban, with emphasis on maximizing throughput and quality
  • Keeps current with industry trends and new automation technology as it arises; maintains communication with team and organization on these findings
  • Regularly communicates KPI results, project progress, and relevant financial health indicators to executive leadership
  • Identifies and implements preventative maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance
  • Develops and maintains healthy relationships with external vendors/suppliers were needed
  • Coordinates continuous improvement opportunities with other business functions to obtain optimum production and output
  • Utilizes data to detect efficiency gaps and identify impactful long-term solutions
  • Manages relationships with Operations, Quality, Sales, Marketing, Graphic Design, and Supply Chain to deliver new products to the market, where possible

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Excellence preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing automation strategy, preferably in a highly regulated environment
  • 7+ years’ experience leading large teams in lean manufacturing practices/procedures
  • Experience in successfully managing and partnering with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience leading and executing large projects across multiple sites, including management of project finances
  • Working knowledge of cGMP in a CPG manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understands technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with the design and application of ergonomic and machine safety standards
  • Strong communication skills and comfortability speaking in front of large groups
  • While performing the duties of this position the employee is frequently required to stand and walk and stoop or kneel; and regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms; communicate clearly and effectively.  
  • Ability to travel as needed to sites across the U.S. (estimated 50%)
