Credit Karma is looking for an experienced Legal Operations Manager who is responsible for creating and supporting practices and processes to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team. While the expectation is that you will roll up your sleeves and do the work to ensure operational excellence, you see yourself as a strategic planner as the legal operations team works to grow the enterprise. You will have exceptional organizational skills, process design experience, and a proactive management style. You can identify, design, implement, and reinforce the processes that allow the legal team to run smoothly, while providing stellar service to our internal partners and external vendors. You'll report directly to our Director of Legal Operations. This is a great opportunity to join a high growth and mission-driven company!
What you'll do:
- Legal Technology:
- Implement legal department tools to improve our practices, and manage design, rollout, and training for new systems
- Oversee the daily administration of systems
- Troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations and resolution options to partners
- Review, suggest and implement process and technology improvements where possible and cost effective
- Metrics and Analytics:
- Evaluate status reports which reflect key items such as project health, schedules, risk and issues
- Analyze and report on data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to improve results and find solutions
- Project Management and General Operations:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal department priorities
- Maintain and distribute project information, create documentation, reports, and related work
- Monitor project budgets, technology, assess risks and track multiple project timelines and progress
- Monitor and update project information, create documentation, reports, and related work throughout the project lifecycle
- Budgeting and Outside Counsel Management:
- Manage administrative aspects of outside counsel and vendor relationships with external consulting company
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 4+ years of experience relevant to legal operations in a large organization or relevant operational management role in positions of progressive responsibility
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with senior executives
- Experience successfully leading projects and initiatives
What we would like to see:
- Familiarity with technology solutions such as JIRA/Confluence, Google Workspace, Slack, and Airtable
- Ability to execute under pressure and within tight timelines while juggling multiple projects
- A self-starter with enthusiasm, who can work independently with minimal oversight on certain projects but who is also a team player and can support projects when needed
