The Engineering Business Continuity team is looking to expand by adding a Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Manager. Reporting directly to the Manager, Engineering for our Business Continuity team you will work cross-functionally and help grow our evolving Disaster Recovery practices and capability. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is eager to play a crucial role in building engineering solutions that will directly improve reliability and resilience for hundreds of systems and services across the Engineering ecosystem at Credit Karma.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate with our Security Governance and Risk team to ensure engineering is in compliance with the enterprise policy, as well as with industry and regulatory standards
  • Provide leadership and coordination to Technology Resiliency & Disaster Recovery best practices and demonstrate ability to measure risk
  • Establish technology classes and define the RTO and RPO for each class
  • Build efficient and scalable templates, systems, run books, and program metrics
  • Lead risk assessments for IT, tabletops and facilitate disaster recovery exercises
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and yearly reports on Engineering Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery program activities and actions
  • Create business impact assessments, department and application level plans across Engineering

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years at a fast growing technology company
  • 3+ years experience within Business Continuity Management or IT Disaster Recovery
  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and/or Engineering operational excellence best practices
  • Understanding of Cloud infrastructure, database, and application development and design
  • Experience working in large service oriented architecture environments at scale
  • Excellent strategic, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or related field from an accredited college or university

What we would like to see

  • Certification from DRII or BCI or similar
  • Prior experience working in Risk Management, Information Technology, Data Centers, Cybersecurity, and BC/DR domains
  • Technology implementation and support experience in cloud-native technologies
