The problem that we are solving for is that in emerging markets, a lack of access to technology at the micro and small-business level means that these businesses lack visibility on their cash flows, payables and receivables and spend onerous time and resources in managing paper registers. The resulting broken cashflows limit the ability of these entrepreneurs to use their capital in growing their business or acquiring customers. We're passionate about solving this problem at scale. 

In the first 12-18 months, CreditBook has secured $11m+ USD in venture financing and has scaled its technology to tens of thousands of micro-businesses across Pakistan. Who we're looking for

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our fast-growing product line. You’ll be working across a modern technology stack (including React, Node.js, Express, AWS) across both the frontend and backend, building scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications.

Working within a diverse team of ML, data, and full-stack engineers, you'll have the autonomy to spearhead cross-functional engineering projects and influence the trajectory of our team's roadmap. Your contributions will not only involve backend architecture and development but also frontend design and implementation, fostering a holistic approach to our product's evolution.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and efficient systems across the entire technology stack
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate these into comprehensive technical solutions spanning both backend and frontend domains.
  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards, fostering collaboration and code quality across the team.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers to uphold code quality and consistency across the entire codebase.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, nurturing their professional growth and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

What we’d love to see

  • Extensive full stack development experience, with a strong emphasis on JavaScript/TypeScript for both backend and frontend development, leveraging frameworks like Express for backend development and React for frontend.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (such as Postgres) and/or NoSQL databases (like MongoDB), including expertise in designing and optimizing schemas, writing efficient queries, and tuning performance for both backend and frontend data interactions.
  • Strong skills in writing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests for both backend and frontend applications, ensuring robustness and reliability across the entire system.
  • Proficiency in version control systems like Git for collaborative code development, versioning, and branching strategies
  • Experience with designing, developing, and documenting RESTful APIs, with exposure to GraphQL being a plus. Ensuring consistency and coherence in API design and implementation across both frontend and backend components.
  • Extensive experience working on public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure (we use AWS)
