About Virtual Restaurant NewCo

Create has identified an opportunity in the restaurant industry, which is a trillion dollar market. We are developing a suite of delivery-only restaurant brands that leverage existing kitchen infrastructure in secondary and tertiary markets. We’ve analyzed 32K zip codes to determine the most optimal cuisine and location pairs. The company will use best-in-class branding, marketing, culinary and kitchen operations to create a myriad of food brands that will cater to a hungry and loyal customer base.  

Co-founder Responsibilities

We are seeking a co-founder who will build and lead the culinary operations of this virtual restaurant business from the ground up. The culinary operations lead will be the backbone of this company, developing delicious menus that customers love, as well as building the infrastructure and processes necessary for each kitchen to thrive. Responsibilities include:


  • Provide leadership and run all areas of the business related to culinary and operations, including strategy, day to day operations, product and kitchen management
  • Act as a champion and owner for the business with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Own and manage all day-to-day operations pertaining to the virtual restaurants, eventually hiring in a GM to lead day to day management
  • Align resources to achieve key business results, including overseeing budgets
  • Support in the refinement of Virtual Restaurant NewCo’s mission, vision, and value as it relates to culinary operations
  • Work hand in hand with the marketing co-founder to deliver the perfect suite of brands and menus for the end customer


  • Working alongside the marketing lead, build delicious and craveable menus from scratch
  • Define strategy and approach for launch of virtual restaurants from a culinary operations perspective
  • Establish short and medium term goals for a successful company launch, and execute against them
  • Own scoping, building, and iterating on all SOPs related to culinary, procurement and operations 
  • Oversee and build supply chain infrastructure
  • With the support of Create, recruit the founding team


  • Own cash flow, and manage burn for the culinary and operations side of the business
  • Oversee and manage early procurement and build out of restaurant appliances, food and kitchen set up
  • Build strategic partnerships that will support and drive company launch and growth

About you

  • Experience building restaurants or kitchens from scratch
  • Has recruited and retained a hardworking and dedicated kitchen staff
  • Has experience overseeing kitchen and restaurant operations, including the development of SOPs as well as other processes and procedures from start to finish
  • Comfortable with food procurement and budgeting
  • Understanding of tech enabled platforms such as door dash, seamless, caviar, etc.
  • Culinary background with a passion for creating delicious food
