Job Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Director/Senior Director, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, who will have scientific oversight of our portfolio and will manage the in vitro and in vivo PK, ADME and bioanalytical assays. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with our cross-functional drug discovery teams to develop and implement studies vital to address key program DMPK issues and successfully advance research compounds into development.

  • Lead scientific efforts to characterize pharmacokinetic properties of drug candidates (small molecule and peptides) to inform and direct lead optimization of drug candidates.
  • Provide scientific DMPK leadership and strategic direction to research project teams with experience mentoring and guiding junior scientists.
  • Scientific supervision of PK studies conducted at CROs.
  • Implement/manage quantitative bioanalysis of plasma and other biological matrices to support pharmacokinetic, toxicokinetics, and in vitro ADME analyses of novel small molecule and peptide therapeutics.
  • Conduct PK and PK/PD modeling using non-compartmental and compartmental models.

Basic Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant scientific field
  • 7-10+ years of work experience in Drug Discovery/ DMPK

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Strong publication record in the area of ADME/PK coupled with a high level of scientific curiosity and analytical thinking skills.
  • Prior success demonstrating strong leadership, collaboration and influence throughout the organization.
  • Prior management experience is a plus.
  • Experience in coordination of in vitro metabolism, DDI, transporters and/or protein binding studies
  • Experience in performing or supervising the execution of bioanalytical assays and the development of such assays.
  • Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Strong verbal, written communication and relationship skills including success managing external vendors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Success operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
