Job Overview

This position is an integral part of the Global Procurement team and responsible for the sourcing and procurement of assigned Indirect or Direct spend categories supporting Coupang company-wide. This is a critical and impactful role that will be highly dependent on working closely with key business partners to support category management, strategic and operational sourcing, and supplier management activities. 

Responsibilities

Perform sourcing and procurement of assigned items and services, vendor management and cost optimization activities to increase the effect of procurement investments, thereby to strengthen Coupang’s long-term profitability and sustainable growth

  • Supports organization-wide procurement, strategic sourcing and supply base management strategies. Assists with the development of category roadmaps and implementation of category strategies
  • Leads Request for Proposals (RFP) in the assigned spend categories.
  • Drives cost reduction projects. Activities include but not limited to supplier negotiations, collaboration with engineering on design optimization and should costing.
  • Drives resolution to procurement issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time.
  • Conduct analytics of volume and spend for cost-savings opportunities
  • Complete continuous improvement projects and documentation in support of the sourcing and spend analysis processes.
  • All duties as directed or modified.

Qualifications

  • Degree from a top tier university with a major in finance, accounting, supply chain, business management; MBA preferred
  • 3 or more years of work experience in Sourcing & Supply Chain, Engineering, or Procurement,
  • Negotiate vendor contracts with best in class terms and conditions that reflect specific business needs and SLAs
  • Manage pipeline of multiple sourcing projects and report on costs savings
  • Solid team player; can work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment
  • Strong consultative / analytical / problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication / negotiation skills
  • Self motivated, reliable, passionate, and can keep to deadlines
  • Multiple category experience is a plus

  • The employment type of this position is regular including 12 weeks probationary period.

  • In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process.  If no request is made until the end of this period, all of his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
  • Hiring may be restricted in case the legal qualifications required for hiring and work performance are not met.
