Coupang Media Group (CMG) is the ads division of Coupang.  Our mission is to provide the best advertising solutions in the world for our clients.  We have two main product areas: 

  • Product Ads: performance-based advertising for ROI focused clients
  • Brand Ads: upper funnel advertising tailored to larger advertisers and global brand owners.

This role is for the Director of Product Management for our Brand Ads.  You will be responsible for setting the roadmap direction, achieving revenue targets, and building the product team.  Brand Ads covers our onsite display advertising including premium sponsorship, traditional guaranteed delivery, as well as auction-based display.  This also include Video Ads as a creative type and the extension of our onsite Brand Ads demand to offsite partners.

 

Job Overview

As the Product Owner of Brand Ads, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining the product vision - from advertiser UI workflow to customer experience and monetization approaches to meet revenue targets
  • Working closely with multiple business partners and directly with advertisers to identify opportunities, form problem statements and craft product solutions
  • Hiring and developing a team of Product Managers
  • Developing long-range product strategy
  • Executing on short term product backlogs to hit quarterly product and revenue targets
  • Leading cross-functional projects across product, engineering, UX, and analytics
  • Protecting the end-user customer experience in the Eats product as Ads are introduced

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience with increasing responsibility
  • Advertising domain expertise
  • Multiple successful launches of V1 products in a rapid growth environment
  • Proven ability to deliver in a complex stakeholder and partner team environment 
  • Hands on experience working in an Agile environment with a rapid iteration cadence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical challenges and make educated trade-offs 
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field or equivalent  
  • Experience building and managing a team of product managers 

 

Preferred

  • MA/PhD or MBA preferred 
  • Experience working with remote development teams
