Couchbase is seeking a highly motivated general ledger accountant to join our growing team! This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience in accounting operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate possesses meticulous attention to detail, excellent interpersonal communication abilities, and a willingness to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the month-end close processes by performing activities that include, but are not limited to:
- Support accounting month end processes, which include preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for areas of responsibility in accordance with established close schedule.
- Manage the accounting for the Company’s fixed assets, which include the maintenance of fixed assets in NetSuite’s Fixed Assets Management module.
- Manage the accounting for the Company’s prepaid accounts.
- Record lease entries in accordance with ASC 842.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Provide support to the accounts payable team.
- Provide support for quarterly reviews and year-end external audits, including preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual account analyses and assisting with deliverables to our external auditors.
- Assist in the review, documentation and streamlining of necessary internal controls and processes.
- Provide accounting support or assist with ad hoc projects as requested.
Qualifications:
- Strong Excel skills with ability to create pivot tables and perform v-look ups.
- Experience with accounting software and the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and analyses (NetSuite, FloQast, Blackline).
- Public company experience is highly desirable.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently.
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines and possess good time management skills.
- Results-oriented with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to work independently or with a team, self-starter, energetic.
- Willing to work in a productivity-driven environment with a high volume of workflow.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
