Cortica is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing team!

What will you do? 

  • Assist with check in of in person and telehealth patients. 
  • Serve as the primary assistant to the physicians and nurse practitioners at the practice, including chart preparation and between visit support. 
  • Provide neuromodulation education and support to patients in accordance with Cortica’s standardized operating procedures (including Cranial Electric Stimulation, Endeavor, and at some Cortica locations, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) 
  • Order and track labs, genetic tests, and imaging. 
  • Intuit and anticipate the needs of medical staff. 
  • Perform a wide variety of clerical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. 
  • Know how to navigate a complex medical environment. 
  • Understands the lines of communication, handles communications properly, and is dependable and collaborative. 
  • Act as a liaison between the patient and billing department, and to enhance account receivables, resolve outstanding issues and/or patient concerns. 
  • Work with staff and understands appropriate scheduling process, willing to learn procedures/patient preps. 
  • Assist Clinical office staff with scheduling issues in a timely manner. 
  • Call in prescriptions, and process prescription denials. 
  • Create new patient records, upload documents, and maintain accuracy in EMR with physical records. 
  • Coordinate EEG referrals. 
  • Prepare items for presentations as needed by the medical team. 
  • Help with special projects and last-minute urgent assignments from leadership. 
  • Complete forms for patients, email patient appointment follow-up (supplement lists, nutrition guides, information links, etc.). 
  • Coordinate medical scheduling, SDRC scheduling, and maintain appropriate spreadsheets. 
  • Apply company policies and procedures and coordinate administrative matters with colleagues in all offices in a diligent and professional manner. 
  • Proceed with any other administrative duties that may be required by Dept. Heads or your Supervisor. 

What you know 

  • You have a high cognition for problem solving with a strong sense of preparation and maintaining a constant state of readiness. 
  • You possess 2-years experience in a patient-facing pediatrics or family Practice setting. 
  • You are preferably fluent in Portuguese.

The base pay range for this opening is $19.98 to $22.48 an hour. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
