About the Role

We are looking for a Business Analyst with 3+ years of experience in technical, project, or program management. By collaborating closely with the Product Manager, Product Designer, and Engineering Manager, the Business Analyst will be instrumental in turning our product roadmap into a reality, ensuring that priorities align with the business needs, project deliverables, and milestones. This role is remote and can be located anywhere that is compatible with the EST time zone. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Sprint and Project Management: Use agile methodologies to drive the planning, execution, and review of sprints for two development teams. 
  • Documentation and Requirements Gathering: Write clear functional and technical specifications, user stories, and requirements. Proactively clarify any ambiguities and ensure that documentation meets organizational standards. 
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and UX to ensure that the team’s work is aligned with strategic business needs. Work closely with developers to identify and resolve blockers, as well as clarify any ambiguities about requirements. Coordinate and manage dependencies across software development teams.
  • Champion Process Improvements that Drive Team Efficiency and Impact: Continually identify opportunities for process and efficiency enhancements, including through in-depth analysis of sprints. Utilize insights from sprint retrospectives and performance data to drive meaningful changes that optimize productivity and project outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance: Define the testing approach and strategy, create detailed test scenarios and cases, and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring high-quality outcomes. 

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience writing user stories, requirements, and both functional and technical documentation, as well as identifying and clarifying unclear requirements through proactive follow-up.
  • Experience in defining testing approaches, strategies, preparing test scenarios and cases, and coordinating UAT.
  • Process-oriented, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong, analytical problem-solver with a data-driven approach to decision-making. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working with remote teams and managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Have at least a foundational understanding of software development practices and principles. You don’t need to be an expert, but you’ll need to be able to understand the basic architecture of our services, how they interact with other products, and be motivated to dive into technical details as needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a technical environment as project manager, program manager, or quality assurance, preferably with experience working with Agile software teams and using Jira
  • Experience working in cross-functional collaborative environments
  • Organized and precise communicator
  • Strong ability in each of the following:
    • Identifying assumptions and logical flaws in lines of reasoning
    • Grasping what data is most important to collect
    • Asking the right questions to gather important information
  • Strong ability to scope and sequence the key tasks necessary to accomplish a particular objective
  • Systems-oriented thinker
  • Self-motivated individual who takes ownership of responsibilities

  • This role is remote and can be located in Canada or Latin America, compatible with EST time zone. We are headquartered in New York City and have office space in Midtown Manhattan.

The compensation range for this position is specific to location and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include (but are not limited to) location, experience, education and skill sets. A reasonable expectation for compensation range for this role is $65,000-$80,000/year USD (Canada specific). This range reflects salary only.
