About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Data Center Engineering to lead our engineering team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of our data center facilities, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and scalability.
Travel required to various data center sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage data center engineering initiatives, providing strategic direction and technical guidance.
- Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of new data center facilities.
- Develop and implement engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and project management to ensure seamless integration and operation of data center infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data center performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for engineering projects.
- Monitor and analyze data center performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in data center engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing data center design, construction, and operations.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure systems including power, cooling, and network connectivity.
- Experience with large-scale, high-density data centers and cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI, or similar) are a plus.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $190,000-$235,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
