Safety Coordinator

Safety Manager
The Job
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, administering, maintaining, and coordinating safety policies and programs, including safety training and internal auditing at multiple Core Scientific sites. This individual will coach and mentor employees to help facilitate safe behaviors and an overall safety culture. The Safety Coordinator will work with the Safety Manager to develop and improve the corporate safety management system.
Responsibilities
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards both virtually and in person.
- Maintains eLearning platform to deliver safety training (i.e., Safety Skills).
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess compliance with safety regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Drafts and implements internal safety standards, policies, and programs.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Conducts incident investigations and makes recommendations for corrective actions.
- Works with site and department leadership to implement and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement safety programs, processes, and procedures.
- Assists the Safety Manager with the ongoing development and continual improvement of the Safety Management System.
- Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team, with co-workers/ teammates, and leaders across the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field is required. A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
- 2 years of experience as a safety professional in general industry required.
- Knowledge of federal and multiple-state safety regulations is required.
- Experience and Safety Management Systems required.
- Experience with technical writing is required (written safety programs, management system documents, etc.)
- Experience with eLearning platforms preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Experience with ISO 45001 preferred.

Frequent travel is required.

This job operates in a professional office environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment, such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift to 20 pounds.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, onsite position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. some nights and weekends may be required.
