Core One is seeking an entry-level Technical Associate to support our growing Technical Advisory team. The Technical Associate will work with a small, high energy, fast-paced team to help  research, develop, and support the delivery of numerous software and hardware solutions, including testing and evaluating open-source software, building prototype hardware systems, configuring and testing networking equipment, developing web and mobile apps, and drafting technical notes and documentations. This is an excellent opportunity for the right resourceful, organized, and persistent computer savvy individual with “maker” instincts to get in on the ground floor of sophisticated and challenging solution development projects. Under general supervision, this individual will perform full life-cycle development of advanced, technically complex systems, to include design, application development, testing, releasing, installation, and maintenance of software and production hardware systems. The ability to adapt solutions from one environment to another, addressing new capabilities and system integration problems, and communicate well in both spoken and written form is required in this hands-on position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in incorporating internal and customer feedback end-users’ challenges and solutions requirements
  • Develop and deliver software solutions according to project release plan
  • Develop, test, and deploy web application software development framework
  • Develop, test, and deploy new web applications, writing in Python and JavaScript variants
  • Develop, test, and deploy new mobile applications for Android platform
  • Assist in configuration and testing of various network equipment solutions
  • Install and evaluate software packages and libraries for features and performance
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively communicate technical challenges, options considered, and the recommended solution to senior leaders
  • Maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Be a crucial member of the team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Assist Developers execute full software engineering life cycle processes (concept vision through test)
  • Evaluate technologies and Commercial products for potential customer applicability

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering 
  • 1-3 years’ relevant experience
  • Working knowledge  of Java, Python or similar programming languages
  • Working knowledge of Git, Linux, and basic Bash or other scripting
  • Working knowledge with embedded hardware platforms (i.e. Raspberry Pi, Arduino, SDRs)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Some prior IT experience is good and strong academic record is needed, you must be a good learner willing to learn and work on the latest technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a small but growing and unstructured environment.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Prior experience in the IC, military, or U.S. government agency.
  • Working knowledge of mobile application development for Android platform
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing services (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
  • Working knowledge of basic computer networking principles
  • Working knowledge e with web programming (both client and server development)
  • Experience with object-oriented design and agile development
  • Experience with CAD and 3D Printing
  • Experience working with common shop tools
  • Active TS clearance or higher
