Cloud Infrastructure Operations Team Lead

We are growing. And as our SaaS offering scales, we are moving from a single Cloud Operations team to a team that does engineering and toil reduction on the infrastructure and the Cloud Infrastructure Operations Team to run it. We are looking for an experienced team lead to help form and manage that Cloud Infrastructure Operations Team.

Your team would be distributed across multiple time zones and run the level 1 and 2 operational functions of the service using the approaches and practices of Site Reliability Engineering, IT Service Management, and DevOps. This includes things like:

  • Service Desk
  • Incident & Problem Management
  • Monitoring & Event Management 
  • Automation Management and Administration 
  • Service Request Fulfillment 

You will work with your counterpart team of Cloud Infrastructure Engineering to identify opportunities for service and reliability improvements and toil reduction. You will provide both management and technical expertise, being the technical lead for your team.

Your background:

  • You’ve spent at lead 4 years leading a distributed operations team in the running a revenue-generating and growing SaaS environment. You bring expertise in the growth of such teams and environments.
  • You have expertise in modern cloud-based SaaS monolithic and micro-services architectures and delivery on AWS using Windows, Linux, and containers with technologies such as: Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Postgres, and Oracle.
  • You can enhance and support existing tooling, automation and/or services in one or multiple languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems and messaging systems.
  • You have familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • You have rich experience in monitoring and logging tools of various types and the presentation of KPIs.
  • You can run projects, speak to executive management, and you manage to the business side of this.
