Length of Position:  12-months

theScore is looking for an individual to fill a QA Automation Student position. Our ideal candidate will have some knowledge of best practices when it comes to mobile & web testing, and a solid background of software development concepts.  

About the Work: 

  • Help maintain automation frameworks for Web and native mobile apps on Android & iOS platforms.  
  • Investigate test failures using root cause analysis during maintenance and planning efforts.  
  • Meet with QA Analysts and product managers to identify testing requirements.  
  • Identify, record, and track bugs.  
  • Participate in code reviews and pair programming sessions with other Automation Engineers.  
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.  
  • Other duties as required. 

About You:  

  • Knowledge of the SDLC and software development concepts.  
  • Experience with the iOS and Android family of mobile devices.  
  • Experience automating tests for web applications. 
  • Experience using version control (Git), and unit testing frameworks (jUnit / Cucumber).  
  • Experience with GraphQL & RESTful APIs is considered an asset.  
  • Experience with continuous integration (Jenkins) is considered an asset.  
  • Knowledge of basic scripting (Bash / Python / Javascript) on macOS or Linux/Unix environments is considered an asset.  
  • Experience using Xcode/Android Studio is considered an asset.  
  • Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA) and defect workflow is considered an asset.

As part of the Digital Technologies Degree Program, you will work full time while spending approximately 20% of your time studying to earn your Bachelor of Applied Science in Digital Technologies degree with York University, Lassonde School of Engineering, Toronto, ON.
