theScore is looking for an individual to fill a QA Analyst Student position. Our ideal candidate should enjoy solving complex problems and troubleshooting software systems; passionate about learning the software development Quality Assurance framework, best practices, test strategies, defect life cycle, and more. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with various fast-paced engineering teams such as Product, Designers, Development, DevOps, Automation, Release Management, IT, etc. that take pride in building great products and have a proven track record of revamping the digital media and sports betting industry. 

About the Work: 

  • As part of the QA team, your primary responsibility will be providing cross-platform testing (e.g., Android, iOS, and Web) of our Sports Media and Betting apps to assess product readiness for production releases. 
  • Participate in bug logging, triaging, priority assessment, and coverage tracking of reported bugs into our preferred defect tracking system. 
  • Develop and document test plans, test cases, and utilize verification and validation techniques for application functionality. 
  • Work and liaise with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers and designers, to ensure correct product functionalities. 
  • Prioritize testing tasks & test cases; track & report on testing activities while following best practices and established standards. 
  • Participate in Bug-bash exercises and proactively do ad-hoc testing. 
  • Actively participate in daily stand-ups, retrospectives, knowledge transfer sessions.  
  • Other duties as required.

About You: 

  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, engineering, or other relevant programs. 
  • Previous exposure to either Android or iOS application testing is a definite plus. 
  • Have a good understanding of Android and iOS development platforms.  
  • Nice to have: experience using ticketing/defect tracking systems (JIRA). 
  • Excellent communication skills, skilled at writing detailed bug reports and can explain technical problems with ease. 
  • Demonstrate a passion for shipping high-quality mobile experiences and applications. 
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Highly self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies. 
  • Should have excellent attention to detail and the ability to think outside of the box to produce complex user scenarios as requirements.

  • Android SDK tools and/or Xcode 
  • Web/HTTP Proxy tools such as Charles Proxy 
  • Atlassian: Jira, Confluence 
  • Selenium, Appium, MacOS 
  • Browserstack 
  • Jenkins, Circle CI, App Center, and GitHub
