The Role

The Marketplace Manager is to help support the onsite Culinary or Marketplace teams in handling day to day operations. You will play a vital role in ensuring the day-to-day success of the marketplace in all the kitchens at CookUnity.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Operational Improvements: ownership of the delta between theoretical and actual food spend in assigned Market Place
    • Establish & implement standardized ingredient-receiving practices at the location to ensure the efficiency and freshness of ingredients
    • Review site layouts to develop optimal storage and handling of ingredients
    • Focus on the “Distribution Model” deployment across all food categories (Protein, Produce, Dairy, and select Dry Goods) and markets
  • Develop and ensure ongoing compliance with the process for checking incoming shipments versus invoices and order sheets.
  • Train Market teams to ensure that they have the skills required to successfully manage our ingredient needs.
    • Provide staffing coverage for Marketplace teams as needed
  • Processes to focus on and implement:
    • Receiving
    • Inventory Counting
    • Ordering
    • Food Safety Compliance (HACCP)
  • Continuous oversight of inventory to ensure optimal levels of product
  • Ensure all product is logged, stored, and neatly organized taking into account FIFO and food safety standards
  • Train The Market's teams in order to ensure they count on the skills and criteria required for their tasks, including HACCP guidelines
  • Refine receiving and cold chain procedures to ensure efficiency and freshness of ingredients.
  • Scheduling of Marketplace and receiving team, according to labor budget.
  • Any other marketplace tasks based on business needs.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, such as management of a Grocery store, warehouse, or procurement department experience
  • Experience in food procurement and extensive food knowledge
  • Experience in inventory management
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented
  • Understanding of food safety and quality standards
  • Ability to train and inspire employees to perform at their best
  • Ability to communicate and understand Spanish

 

Requirements:

  • Must be able to deal with stressful situations and environment
  • Must be able to accommodate flexible working hours including early morning, late night, weekends and holidays 
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 100 pounds
  • Work in temperature controlled environments
  • Able to work onsite each work day

Compensation

All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Pay Range for this position
$67,000$75,000 USD
