UK Learning & Development Specialist

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for the creation, optimization, maintenance, and delivery of critical learning programmes that are strategically aligned to Convene’s Global organisational goals and objectives, and supports change management initiatives. 

Please note: Candidates must currently reside in the UK and be able to work in the UK without sponsorship. This is a flexible/hybrid role based in London (County Hall), with an average of three days per week  spent in the office/onsite.

 

What You’ll Do:

Training Curriculum & Design

  • Partner with business teams to identify training needs, pilot new programmes, and support implementation.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyse requirements, define objectives, and design training programs.
  • Collaborate with operations to strategize training tools and resources for future growth.

Instructional Design and Facilitation

  • Design formal and informal learning opportunities including, but not limited to workshops, on-demand learning, and comprehensive programming that nurtures internal talent
  • Create training materials for facilitators and trainers to consistently deliver learning experiences
  • Periodically facilitate workshops for our internal teams
  • Own end-to-end continuous development and execution of existing onboarding program
    • Continually evaluate the onboarding experience to ensure team members feel a sense of belonging from day one and understand how they contribute to the overall success of the company
    • Iterate processes and onboarding systems; work with People Operations and Talent Acquisition to develop and evolve our operational, knowledge sharing, and welcome experience whether an employee is fully remote, hybrid or on property

Systems and Infrastructure

  • Develop infrastructure and tools that enable learning and development at scale
  • Oversee the use of our Learning Management System to create, disseminate, certify, and report on team members’ eLearning 
  • Develop system to report on key performance metrics including: participation, budget, learning effectiveness and feedback
  • Efficiently manage learning and development budgets

Feedback and Data

  • Proactively seek out team members’ input; adapt, iterate, and refine the L&D strategy, solutions, and content based on feedback
  • Use data to hold yourself and your team accountable; track, measure, and report on training efficiency metrics to ensure results meet objectives

 

Administrative

  • Stay connected with the learning and development community to keep current on trends and interesting developments in this field, enabling Convene to experiment with cutting edge ideas and update strategic plans
  • Additional administrative tasks as needed

  • Are proficient in enterprise communication and productivity tools (Google Workspace preferred).

This role is eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.
