We’re placing more emphasis on how we engage with our customers through targeted, tailored and timely campaigns and are looking for a Marketing Automation Specialist to come in and help us unlock the potential that Marketo provides.

In this new role you will be the internal expert in all things Marketo and lead the creation, implementation and scaling of campaign automation across the business, as we build out our efforts and also plug in more channels to take us ‘beyond email’.

This role sits within a newly created team focused on Data, Technology and Analytics which will have responsibility for the governance and management of our customers, their interactions with us and the optimisation of their experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Become the internal expert on implementing Marketo campaigns, with responsibility for email marketing program development and execution, including segmentation, testing and deployment
  • Have the ability to explain and liaise with other parts of marketing and sales on how the platform can support their roles (e.g. Marketing lead gen and ROI tracking, sales for sales and prospect intelligence, content marketing for journey design and nurture campaigns)
  • Understand the importance of data and data management for privacy and CRM management and reporting
  • Responsibility for Marketo templates, working to inform and optimise for customer use and ensuring that we’re best able to deliver engaging campaigns
  • Continuously experiment and test new Marketo formats and calls-to-action (CTAs) to increase the quality and quantity of sales leads and customer engagement
  • Leverage key Marketo functionality such as tokens and dynamic content to reduce execution time and increase consistency across all Marketo programs
  • Work with management to define KPIs, create reporting and analyse campaign performance. Create recommendations for the marketing team to continuously improve campaigns
  • Maintain Marketing Automation integration with CRM and assist in the integration of additional platforms into the marketing automation software as required
  • Understand the end-to-end flow of marketing data for optimisation and reporting purposes
  • Educate and train members of the marketing department and other relevant teams on how best to structure their content to streamline workflow and maximize Marketo’s potential
  • Work closely with tech team on form integration and web journeys ensuring a coherent customer journey

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have proven experience working with Marketo to utilise full functionality in delivering commercially successful campaigns
  • Can apply your technical skills to deliver efficient and automated workflows
  • Know the importance of ensuing data and privacy is correctly managed
  • 5-7 + years marketing automation experience in Marketo
  • Marketo Certified Expert preferred, but not required
  • Expert knowledge of database management concepts and best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
