Contentful is looking for a Senior Director, Product Management (Core Platform) (f/m/d)

Focus of this role is to lead the team and drive the future strategy that is at the core of Contentful Content Management capabilities, notably including:

  • Native content primitives and third-party data orchestration
  • Content APIs and core content management concepts
  • Platform AI capabilities and generative AI workloads and pipelines
  • Managed serverless content and data workloads

Contentful’s Senior Director of Product - Content Platform is an experienced professional who previously managed the strategy and execution on PaaS/SaaS API First - multi persona - data processing product with advanced workflows and pipelines including AI capabilities.

In this position the candidate will also engage in the domain of information management topics like search and retrieval, knowledge graphs, and ontologies, including their relations with AI capabilities like  RAG.

This role leads a team of up to 10 PM and collaborates closely with founders and C-level executives, aligning on the innovation trajectory so as to develop an aligned platform strategy and execution roadmap.

Contentful works following an agile - cross-functional approach to product development so the candidate should be familiar with and effective in this sort of environment.

What to expect? 

  • Together with the Product leadership and the rest of the management team, set, own, and execute Contentful’s product roadmap along the broader strategic business themes to further accelerate the business’ growth and establish it as a market leader in product experience and innovation. 
  • Lead, mentor, and scale the product team, identifying and fulfilling key hiring needs and areas of the organization that necessitate upskilling. 
  • Work closely with the rest of the product development leadership team to drive the adoption of shared best practices across the organization and build/implement the tools needed to ensure world-class product delivery processes. 
  • Drive monetization across existing and new products, increasing the paying subscriber user base significantly on an international scale. 
  • Engage and communicate effectively with enterprise customers, creating strong feedback cycles in the product development process and establishing a customer-centric culture in the product organization, enabling the team to deliver both world-class enterprise software solutions and consumer-grade user experiences.

What you need to be successful

  • Proven experience as a product leader in a successful, fast-moving global Enterprise software business where the company has grown rapidly and successfully as a result of your contribution. 
  • Highly skilled in deriving insights and decisions from data, as well as comfortable relying on product instincts, user-centric thinking, and business intuition when lacking quantitative tools to evaluate situations of uncertainty. 
  • Adaptable leadership style, able to flex between direct decision-making and consensus-driven processes. 
  • Comfortable being hands-on in driving change and getting into the details of the product development process when required. 
  • Excellent communicator capable of motivating and energizing reports and peers. Proven ability to create a highly collaborative working environment. 
  • Technically literate, able to collaborate closely with engineering counterparts, and effectively engage and empathize with the developer community. 
  • A holistic thinker who can translate the vision into strategy and execution. 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and priorities.
