As a Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will be a crucial member of our team, working with innovative tools, processes, and people to create, manage, and maintain critical platform pieces and infrastructure.

We are seeking a talented Senior Kubernetes Engineer to help maintain and improve our cloud-native infrastructure using technology like ArgoCD, Istio, Prometheus, and Jenkins among others. Along with your team, you will deliver functionality that is critical to the rollout of many of Constant Contact’s key initiatives.  What you’ll do:

  • Build, maintain, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters using EKS/OpenShift/OKD
  • Maintain and improve CI-CD services for all the company’s applications running in Kubernetes
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve issues with pipelines in Jenkins and ArgoCD
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of observability systems
  • Participate in small to large DevOps initiatives related to product delivery tasks
  • Study the system and proactively provide architectural improvements and automated solutions for daily operations, deployment, and monitoring
  • Document operational procedures and share knowledge with stakeholder teams
  • Mentor junior members of the team on best practices, architecture and development
  • Provide guidance in cloud-based best practices
  • Participate in the K8sCloudTeam team’s on-call schedule, which means that occasionally you may be asked to provide after-hours support for deployments and other maintenance tasks. Business hours are typically 09:00 – 5:00 ET

Who you are:

  • 6+ years professional combined work experience in DevOps, SRE, System Administration, or similar roles
  • Must have Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD experience
  • Must have demonstrable programming abilities in scripting languages like Bash and Python
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals is a must. You should be comfortable using common network troubleshooting tools like dig and nslookup, netstat, netcat etc.
  • Java EE/Jakarta experience writing/troubleshooting Java applications using Maven, Tomcat, TomEE, and related technologies is a major plus
  • OpenShift/OKD experience is a plus
  • Skilled at learning complex processes quickly and a self-service mindset through independent research
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • The applicant should demonstrate effective communication skills; both written and verbal
  • B.S. in Computer Science (or related discipline)

Bonus Points:

  • Istio/Gloo Mesh experience is a benefit
  • ​​Knowledge of Linux system internals and common tools would be a benefit to anyone in this role. In particular, being comfortable using tools like top, strace, lsof, etc., would be a useful aid in your work
  • Experience with IaC, Git / GitOps, AWS is desirable
  • Experience with OpenStack, Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform would be rarely needed but useful skills to bring to the team as well
  • Experience in database systems like MySQL, Redis, Cassandra, would be helpful
  • M.S. in Computer Science (or related discipline)

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education and work location. In addition, some roles may be eligible for additional on target commission pay or bonus. The compensation package includes health and welfare benefits including paid leave.
