Complex seeks an experienced mid-level Insights Data Analyst to join the Business Intelligence team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage sales data requests in a concise and expedient fashion
  • Analyze and look for trends within multivariate datasets and platform metrics including site, social, native and 3rd party applications - Brainstorms, drafts and implements analytics strategies to help guide our sales data provision services
  • Create insights in conjunction with sales strategy and campaign management to bolster pre-sale, live and post-sale phasing and optimization
  • Become a data evangelist and SME for the Sales unit
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects without missing a beat -- this role will involve a balance of ad hoc requests and regular deliverables 
  • Craft dynamic data visualizations that relay insights and findings in leverageable formats
  • Quick to understand new data and platforms for incorporation into the Sales data stack

REQUIREMENTS

  • Four year degree (B.A., B.S.) from an accredited college or university
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a digital data-focused role, preferably at a media company
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical content to nontechnical constituents
  • Fluent understanding of data gathering and analytics tools such as Excel, Domo, FaceBook Insights, CrowdTangle, Google Analytics, ComScore
  • Knowledge of media computational mathematics
  • Audience Modeling
  • Experience in custom research 
  • Understanding of audience and content models and how data powers them
  • Understanding of the media sales lifecycle and applied data within that framework
  • Very strong analytical and data narrative development skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability with experience providing business insights and recommendations from data sets
  • Tested writing skills as well as critical thinking and high attention to details

This is not a Data Engineer or Scientist position.  

Essential:

  • Media company experience
  • BI Platform experience - Domo or Tableau
  • Fluency with 3rd party data platforms (Facebook, CrowdTangle, etc)
  • Media math
  • Data Visualization skills ( provide portfolio)
  • Development of data narratives

Desirable experience:

  • Media Sales lifecycle knowledge
  • Presentation skills
  • Audience Modeling
  • Experience in custom research
