The Complex Brand Partnerships Studio division is now hiring a Director of Production, Brand Partnerships Studio to lead a team of video and event producers. Reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Brand Partnerships Studio, the ideal candidate will have a diverse array of experience in brand storytelling and marketing, content production, digital media, experiential marketing, talent relations, and budget management.


  • Support the Branded Partnership (Sales) division with ideation for production needs surrounding brand sponsored media campaigns/partnerships
  • Manage a team of six (5) Producers and (1) Coordinator based in New York City and Los Angeles
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to execute programs across the Complex editorial platform and Complex Owned and Operated sites: First We Feast, Sole Collector, Pigeons & Planes
  • Project production budgets associated with brand campaigns and work with Producers to manage spends
  • Actively review all branded content productions to make sure storytelling is aligned with Complex voice and delivers on brand goals
  • Liaise with strategy and sales teams regularly, contributing to pre-sale pitches and post-sale program kick-off and status meetings
  • Prepare and present video and experiential concepts for client and agency meetings
  • Work closely with the talent team to procure appropriate talent partners from the worlds of music, film, fashion, sneakers, sports, etc, for branded content opportunities
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams in order to make sure productions are within legal guardrails, finance policies and budget management
  • Collaborate daily with video and branded content teams to develop creative for brand campaigns  
  • Lead experiential strategy and executive produce all brand sponsored events which will include ComplexCon activations for brands, concerts, movie screenings, pop-up experiences, art exhibitions, VIP dinners, and in-store events
  • Travel frequently to oversee productions including video and photo shoots, events and ComplexCon activations
  • Create structure, best practices, and policies for the production team for efficiencies with the ability to revise and pivot as the business goals change


  • Minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience, with at least 2 years of management experience
  • Available to travel 50-75% including weekends
  • Passion for lifestyle, fashion/sneakers, music, sports, gaming, and pop culture
  • Be organized, creative, outgoing, solutions-oriented and have a great work ethic and attitude
  • Work well in a fast paced environment while managing a team, ability to work efficiently and be available both in the office and when on the road
  • Have great relationships with production agencies and vendors, music and fashion labels, talent agencies, publicists, managers
  • Able to find ways to be flexible in order to execute programs alongside a team
  • Previous work executing productions in conjunction with large scale tentpole events as varied as Sundance Film Festival, NBA All-Star Weekend, EssenceFest, SXSW, ComicCon, Coachella, SneakerCon, Winter Music Conference, Art Basel
  • Familiarity with Project Management/CRM/budgeting software is a plus
