About This Role
As the largest provider of PHP/IOP programs and psychiatric services in Illinois, Compass Health Center is one of the fastest-growing behavioral health organizations in the country. We are thrilled to expand our exceptionally innovative and highly distinguished programs that redefine our industry and raise the standard for comprehensive care.
Launching in September 2023, our newest location in Silver Spring, MD, will be home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent, and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and nurses working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.
The Medical Intake Coordinator is responsible for the medical registration of new patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to communicate patient health information that requires treatment planning and/or further medical consultation.
What You'll Do:
- Manages the medical registration process of patients entering the healthcare facility
- Provides administrative support to the Nursing Department and Psychiatry Department
- Collects and documents intake information such as medication and health history
- Communicates and collaborates with the nursing team regarding intake information
- Collects and documents of vital signs, height, weight
- Drafting medical documentation and lab orders under the direction of the psychiatry provider
- Transcribing medical information to patient’s charts & communicating pertinent information to the treatment team
- Maintains confidentiality. patient privacy, and data security
- Provides supplementary assistance with infection control and prevention measures
- Medication, medical supply, and equipment inventory
- Initiating Prior Authorizations for medications and diagnostic tests
- Participates in professional development activities
- All other duties within the scope of training as assigned by the Site Leader
Consults with:
- Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Program Directors, Staff Therapists, Staff Nurses, and Administrative Staff
Who You Are:
- Exceptional interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills
- Robust organizational and time management skills, with noteworthy attention to detail
- Team player with adaptiveness and agility
- Medical Assistant (preferred)
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy (highly preferred)
- Current CPR certification (preferred not required)
- Working knowledge of pharmaceuticals (preferred not required)
- Experience in mental health care (preferred not required)
Physical Requirements
- Often required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Schedule (schedule of 40 hours/week)
- Monday through Friday, 10:30 am – 6:30 pm
